Thank you so much to Missy Corti-Holt and Amy Jones for their many years of service to New Franklin School! Also, thank you to Mrs. Carmody and Mrs. Lightizer for all you combined years of support with NFS PTO. Mrs. Carmody's farewell assembly will be on June 21st at 10 a.m.
Lawn Fete: Volunteer forms are out - electronic and paper. Meeting set for 9:15 a.m. on June 6th.
T-shirts for Reader assembly: more money than was budgeted - need to re-evaluate.

4th Grade going to Squam Lake & Strawberry Banke. 5th Grade to the Museum of Science. Need $ for buses
Class sizes are up in the air at this point in time. Mrs. C is doing her best to sew things up before she leaves. space might be an issue if we need 3-4 extra classes.
The budget should be ready to go by September. She can sit down with PTO to solidify.

The City council meeting was well attended. next meeting is set for June 8th (final school budget meeting).

Teachers Appreciation Week: Need exact # of staff. Should be a fun week. Everything set.
Lawn Fete: Committees on schedule. Need to set up meeting soon to go over plans. Meeting set for 5/17 @3:30pm at NFS
Blood Drive: Scheduled the blood drive for Friday May 20th 2-7 pm at Middle Street Baptist Church. It will be in Cole Lehtinen's name.
Posters will be available to hang around town.

New Teacher Liaison: Christina Bate. Welcome Mrs. Bates! Note: Teachers feel that we need to get the copying under control. It fell apart after a while. The teachers found it helpful but they need to count on it being done

Ted Corti has a copy machine he would like to donate - do we have the room for it? Need to keep up maintenance - look into service contract and discuss if we should take it.

Field trips underway: K & 1st grades went to Music Hall, 2nd grade going to Butterfly Place. Might need $$ for buses.

Blood Drive: We cannot have a blood drive at New Fanklin until July or August. We can attach Cole Lehtinen's name
to a drive already planned. There is one scheduled for June 22nd at St. James Parish. 1-6pm. Ilysse to check with The Lehtinen's
to make sure this is o.k. and then PTO can proceed to advertise it.
Other: Kerrie Place brought up a new fundraising idea - the Scrip Program (gift cards for every day items).

First Aid Courses: scheduled for January 12 & 19th. Adding an Emergency Responses Course

New Business: Environmental School: Jeannette MacDonald reported that the fundraiser is set for Jan. 18th
at Flatbread Pizza. Going to start bake sales with popcorn on Fridays. Also asked for other
4th grade parent volunteers for next year.
Ice Cream Social:Pam Shore & Mary Chavez heading up. Hawaian Luau theme. Set date for Feb. 23rd, 6:30-7:30pm
Red Hook Dance: Set for March 12, 2005. Pam Shore heading up. 7pm till 11. Cash Bar

Teacher Appreciation Week: Nancy, Pam, Mary Chavez, Wendy Baker & Kari Place heading up - in May
Artist in Residence: Voted from 2 choices: theatre & Irish Dance/Song. Decided on Regina Delaney for
the Irish Dance/Songs.
Sunshine Fund:Nancy suggested a fund for members/staff milestones and incidents. Decided to discuss
case by case. 1st case: Lehtinen little boy struck with leukemia. Decided to organize blook drive in little boy's
name. Tara Mikela heading up. 2nd case: Kevin Semprini retiring. Decided on an award from PTO in honor of "Officer Friendly" presented
at the assembly on Jan. 13th.

Craft Fair: $6191.00 deposited into the bank account. Jen Fahey, Volunteer Coordinator setting up committee
to work on for ideas, fundraising, grants, for this successful PTO Fall event. Sign up sheet passed around.
