5th Grade Fundraiser(s)
Commitment Level: Light to Medium
Number of Coordinators Needed: 1-2 per event
Responsibilities:
The PTO is supporting $10,000 of Ecology School. The total cost of the trip is between $15,000 and $17,000, therefore, in order to lessen the burden on parents, additional fundraising has to be done.
**One BIG way to cut costs is to appeal to C&J to donate transportation to and from Poland, ME (They have done so in the past.). See a Board Member for hints on how to solicit this donation.**
End of 4th Grade - a fundraiser for e-school will be done at Lawn Fete to kick off 5th grade fundraising. The Wreath fundraiser at the holidays is also an exclusively 5th grade fundraiser.
During the 5th Grade Year -
The idea is for the kids to get a little skin in the game and feel like they’ve earned the trip and can take pride in that.
Some ideas for easy-ish fundraisers are as follows:

- Cookie Dough catalogue sales - can be done in conjunction with a holiday catalogue fundraiser or separately

Kindergarten/1st Grade Mentor Family
Commitment Level: Light to Medium
Number of Mentor Families Needed: 1 per incoming K and 1 family
Responsibilities:
1. Mentor families will be given a K-1 family’s name and contact info. Reach out to welcome the family to NFS
2. Reach out when there is a big event coming up to make sure they’re in the know. (Like, arrive early at Holiday Concert for good parking!)
3, Generally be a touchstone/familiar, friendly face to answer any nuts and Bolts questions about navigating the NFS and Portsmouth Schools experience.

Number of Coordinators Needed: 1-2
Responsibilities
1. 1st Week in May - Contact Mrs. Simons RE: needs - food, grills, etc...
* Reserve Grill(s) and tanks with Marshall - either arrange for payment with the Assistant Treasurer, or keep receipts for reimbursement
* Order Cupcakes for families - or arrange for ice cream truck, Kona Ice, - or whatever is decided (https://northeasticecream.com/ is great to work with.)
2. Mid-May - Contact the Volunteer Coordinator to ask for volunteers to work the grills the day of the event
3. June - Week of 5th Grade Celebration - Purchase table covers, balloons, plants, any other decorations (Dollar Tree is perfect for this.) * Keep receipts for reimbursement - submit to Assistant Treasurer
* Arrange for the pick-up and drop-off of rented grills - and make sure these things happen
* Get grilling equipment from the PTO Shed - clean, use, clean again, and return to the shed.
